Airbus A330-300 and Boeing 777-300ER Programs
Recent milestones in our partnership with SWISS include major retrofit programs for both the Airbus A330-300 (14 aircraft) and the Boeing 777-300ER (12 aircraft). These projects build on our earlier line-fit successes, where we equipped both aircraft types with Galleys and Stowage units.
Following the successful development of Galleys and Stowage solutions for the new “SWISS Senses” cabin concept on the A330, Bucher has recently also been selected for the Boeing 777 retrofit program, demonstrating SWISS’s continued confidence in our long-term partnership.
Boeing 777-300ER Retrofit
The introduction of new seats required adjustments to monument positions, providing an ideal opportunity to optimize Galley layouts. The result is a sleek, integrated design aligned with the “SWISS Senses” cabin concept.
Our objective is to create a warm and welcoming boarding experience consistent with the A330, ensuring passengers enjoy the same refined atmosphere from the moment they step on board, while also improving catering efficiency.
Galley layout and insert configuration was carefully refined to enhance both aesthetics and operational performance. A key innovation is the introduction of a Galley Waste Deposit Unit, a vacuum-based system designed to efficiently remove liquids and waste during flight. This solution helps prevent pipe blockages, reduce maintenance requirements, and minimize operational disruptions. Automated shut-off features further simplify maintenance and reduce downtime.
In addition to the Door 2 Galley, the project includes Purser Crew Workstations with an integrated Inflight Video Control Center, enhancing functionality for cabin crews.
Airbus A330-300 Retrofit Enhancements
For the A330 our retrofit includes redesigned Galleys, exclusive Stowage units featuring integrated self-service section for both Business and Economy Class. These solutions combine functionality with a refined passenger experience, aligning seamlessly with the overall cabin concept.
